Gallery225

Gallery225 is an experimental gallery space next to our office that has the ability to morph into different landscapes and locations all over the world. We created the space to offer our clients and creative partners the ability to test new ideas. This imagination-generated environment employs video projection to manipulate each visitor's experience. Gallery225 can be enveloped with full-scale renderings, allowing you to completely visualize and "feel" a potential space.

As the entry piece at the Boffo Show House, Focus Lighting's interactive installation - "Cloud" - unifies the four Show House experiences by ushering guests in with a veil of ever-changing color overhead. The LED nodes illuminating the 200 tubes and uplighting the ceiling above the installation's 16 wooden discs employ infrared sensors that allow "Cloud" to process the movement beneath it. As visitors enter the 35-foot-long hallway, a dynamic shift in color springs ahead of them, cycling randomly to one of 12 shows.

Times Square Ball 100th Anniversary

Times Square Ball 100th Anniversary

The theme for the 100th anniversary of the Times Square Ball was "Let There Be Light" so the goal was obvious - to create a sparkling "gem" more colorful, dynamic, and earth-friendly than ever before. This was achieved utilizing energy-efficient LEDs with specially designed mirrored baffles and with double faceted crystals - creating incredible sparkle, excellent color mixing, and distinct separation between triangles allowing New Year's revelers to appreciate every facet of this brighter, more colorful Times Square Ball.

"Lumen" by Jenny Sabin

"Lumen" by Jenny Sabin

Jenny Sabin's Lumen at MoMA PS1 is made of over 1 million yards of robotically woven fibers that change color when exposed to UV light. In the daytime, the sun's UV rays react with solar active fibers woven into hanging "Groves," causing the structures to subtly shift their perceived color. In the evening we used strategically placed color-controllable fixtures that included a UV LED to stimulate additional photoluminescent fibers and highlight the shape of Lumen's "Cells." Colors from the visible spectrum of light emphasize Lumen's "Towers" and "Groves," creating an ever-changing composition throughout the evening.
